PORTO PICCOLO
A summer residence between sea and history
“Any wind is the wind of the sea, and any city, even the most continental city, on windy hours is maritime. It smells like the sea: no, but there is sea air, we add the smell”.
– Marina Cvetaeva –
Trieste, Central European and magic city, is drawn from the sea, written by the wind, travel destination and epicenter of travels, histories and cultures. All of this is found in this project of the ETV studio that, according to a single concept, designs and manufactures a series of six villas of Porto Piccolo, united by a common underlying theme, that of the winds. The names of the winds, starting from their etymological meanings, with the fantasies that evoke and arousing emotions are the inspiring motive of a work that minimizes the artifice and pays a tribute to the nature. The winds are represented and interpreted by four different types of Japanese graphic waves, recurring motif in the studio work for the special attention given to art and oriental tradition. Cards painted with marine texture, Venice woods for soberly elegant furniture and without ostentation, elements which seem to emerge directly from the sea and spaces that seem designed for a ship, suggests a lifestyle in total integration with the surrounding environment.
